The idea of Ajvar Festival is the result of the joint efforts of the local Serbian community of Deszk. It is unique in Europe putting a homemade dish, namely ajvar, into the focus and support the spread of the taste of Southern Slavic region. The festival opens the door to all the nations of the Carpathian Basin to represent their own individual cultural innovations in the framework of cultural and gastronomic diversity in accordance with their roots and national cultural identity.
